Roll-on-Roll-off Skip Hire in Leeds

Roll-on-roll-off skip hire across Leeds — 20 to 40 yard open and enclosed RoRo containers for high-volume commercial, construction and demolition waste. Call to enquire.

When a builder's skip just won't cut it, a roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) container is the answer. These are the big ones — 20 to 40 yards of open or enclosed capacity, delivered on a hook-loader lorry and built for the kind of high-volume waste that construction sites, demolition jobs, factories and large commercial clearances throw out. Because every RoRo job is different, we price them on enquiry rather than online. Give the Leeds Skip Hire team a ring on 0113 347 7330 and we'll sort the right container, the right exchange schedule and a fair quote for your site.

What a RoRo skip is — and when you actually need one

A roll-on-roll-off skip is a long, steel container that rolls straight off the back of a specialist chain-lift or hook-loader lorry onto your site, then rolls back on when it's full. Where our Jumbo 16-yard skip is the largest we deliver on a standard truck, RoRos pick up where that leaves off — 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40-yard containers holding several tonnes of material each. They're the workhorse of any job producing waste faster than a conventional skip can handle: a house-builder mid-groundworks, a demolition crew levelling a unit, a shopfitting strip-out, a factory clearance or an estate managing a rolling programme of works. Instead of juggling half a dozen 8-yard skips, you run one RoRo and we swap it for an empty as often as the job needs.

20 to 40 yards, open-top or fully enclosed

Open RoRo containers are the standard choice for heavy and bulky waste — soil, hardcore, broken concrete, rubble, timber, metal and general construction and demolition muck. They're open at the top so a digger, grab or loader can tip straight in over the side. Enclosed RoRos have a roof and lockable doors, which makes them ideal for lightweight, wind-blown or higher-value waste — cardboard and packaging, plastics, insulation, shredded material or anything you'd rather keep dry, secure and out of sight on a public-facing site. As a rough guide, a 20-yard container swallows the equivalent of roughly ten 8-yard builder's skips, while a 40-yard holds around double that again. We'll talk through your waste stream on the phone and match the size and type to it — there's no point paying for air, and no sense running out of room by Wednesday.

Site access and where a RoRo can go

RoRo lorries are large, so a bit of planning up front saves a lot of hassle. The container needs firm, level hardstanding to sit on — concrete or compacted ground rather than soft grass or a flower bed — and the wagon needs clear, straight-line access to reverse in and winch the skip on and off, plus decent overhead clearance free of low cables, branches and eaves. Most yards, compounds, car parks and larger driveways are fine; tight residential streets usually aren't the right fit. If the container is going on a public road you'll need a permit, and we'll arrange that with Leeds City Council for you as part of the job. We deliver RoRos right across the LS postcodes, and the industrial and construction hubs south and east of the city — Hunslet, Cross Green, Stourton and the wider Aire Valley — are firmly on our patch. Not sure your site works? Tell us the postcode and we'll give you an honest answer before anything's booked.

Why it's enquiry-only — and how to get a price

You won't find a RoRo price on our booking page, and that's deliberate. Unlike our fixed-price mini, midi, maxi and jumbo skips, a RoRo quote depends on the container size, the type and weight of waste, how many exchanges you'll need and how long you want it on site. Quoting a flat figure online would either overcharge the light jobs or leave the heavy ones short — so we'd rather have a quick chat and get it right. Ring 0113 347 7330 or drop us an email, tell us what you're clearing and roughly how much, and we'll come back with a clear, no-surprises price. As with every skip we run, over 90% of what we take away is sorted for recycling, and you'll get the waste transfer documentation your site needs for its records.

Common questions

How much does a roll-on-roll-off skip cost in Leeds?+

RoRo hire is priced on enquiry rather than shown online, because the cost depends on the container size, the weight and type of waste, how many times you need it emptied and how long it's on site. Call us on 0113 347 7330 with a rough idea of what you're clearing and we'll give you a clear, fair quote with no hidden extras.

What's the difference between an open and an enclosed RoRo?+

Open RoRos are open at the top so a digger or grab can tip heavy, bulky waste straight in — perfect for soil, hardcore, concrete and general construction and demolition material. Enclosed RoRos have a roof and lockable doors, which suits lightweight, wind-blown or higher-value waste you want kept dry, secure and tidy on a public-facing site.

How much space do I need for a RoRo container?+

You'll need firm, level hardstanding for the container to sit on and clear, straight access for the lorry to reverse in and winch it on and off, with no low cables or branches overhead. Yards, compounds, car parks and larger driveways usually work well; tight residential streets often don't. Send us your postcode and we'll confirm whether your site is suitable before you book.
